Enter Bracket’s Actions September 21, 2010

You SEE (!) I’m going to have to — call a family meeting to talk about Bracket’s actions.

bb:

It wasn’t that bad, it doesn’t seem.

Hucka D. (obviously still upset):

Sapphire! Oh, she’s not around tonight.

bb:

Do you want me to split into Baker Bloch and Baker Blinker for this?

Hucka D.:

I tell you what, I’m going to bring in Peter for this one. Then you’ll see. Peter!

bb:

Hmmm…

Peter:

Oh. Erm.

bb:

I can’t even load up the webpage to recheck, Hucka D.

Peter:

Ah. Iiiiiiii…

Hucka D.:

OK, Peter’s not quite ready yet. So, it’s just you and me. I’ll have to take it out on you personally, baker b. Don’t take it too personally.

bb:

OK, shoot.

Hucka D.:

I won’t take it that far.

bb:

I own in Slosser now.

Hucka D.:

I don’t give a f— about Slosser tonight, baker b.

bb:

Oooo…

Hucka D.:

I’m *serious*. Look at what Bracket has done… undone. 5 years of hard work.

bb:

I don’t really see the harm. He was just spouting off some *nonsense*. It is nonsense, isn’t it?

Hucka D.:

OK, here she is.

Sapphire:

Oh, what’d you do to him baker b.? (slight laugh)

bb:

Bracket went to this circle chat where they log in all your conversations and said some stuff that maybe he shouldn’t have said. About The Bill.

Sapphire:

Where’s the “stuff”?

bb:

Lemme try again to pull it up. (pause) No, it’s not working now.

Sapphire:

Well, *that* might be good.

bb:

Switching to another subject perhaps, I’ve heard that you may be going away from us, Sapphire.

Sapphire:

Probably not.

bb”

Connected to my totally leaving Noru now?

Sapphire:

(pause) Yes. (pause) And the finishing of Carrcass-4. (pause) And the move to Otaki Gorge and also Slosser.

Hucka D.:

I’m back. Sorry I got so huffy. And it was *me* that broke that link. See what I can do, baker b.?

bb:

You know, that’s one of those things I half believe from you!

Hucka D.:

It’s true. I shifted time around a bit.

bb:

I went back to Darkside today, speaking of oddities. I heard that *noise* again. 5 times clear now, maybe 6. It seems to happen at regular intervals, maybe about every 12 minutes or so. The last one was noticably fainter than the one before. Otherwise they all sounded exactly the same, and the same as every other time I’ve heard this.

Hucka D.:

I can’t really speak about that.

bb:

It’s always out in the middle of the woods. But not any certain woods, or even any specific city. But it’s always in the woods.

Hucka D.:

Nope, can’t say anything.

bb:

Is Sapphire really going away?

Hucka D.:

Lister baker b., we have a lot of work to do. I’m going to have to muzzle Bracket in some way.

bb:

It’s just like Esbum.

Hucka D.:

No, not quite. Not *yet*. Let’s start a campaign. The “Save Bracket” campaign. Can you do that for me?

bb:

I suppose.

Hucka D.:

And that’s it for tonight. Apologies again for taking this out so much on you. No, Sapphire won’t leave. Goodnight.

bb:

Thanks, Hucka D. I’ll attempt to rein in Bracket a bit.

Hucka D.:

Thanks in turn.

It was subsequently decided that Bracket should be exiled to the Blake Sea region for a period of about 2 weeks to think over what he had done, and to understand that actions do have consequences.

Trees, Etc. October 30, 2009

Filed under: Blake Sea,Chasm Deep,Corsica Continent,Jeogeot Chilbo — baker Blinker @ 7:54 am

Baker Bloch visits an interesting island in the Blake Sea, near the current eastern edge of a New England themed archipelago. Called Great Island, and spanning two sims: Point of Pines and Land’s End. Appropriate to the name, it is one of the largest islands of the archipelago.

A large salt marsh dominates the center of the island, which a wet footed Blochs is standing in below, looking east toward a wooded hill.

Snapshot1385_003smaller

We then shift to Karoz meditating in the huge branches of the great Oracle Tree of Chilbo, which Hucka D. has just talked about in a blog post and with certainly some interesting stories about its possible, ancient or pre-Linden origins. (!) I’m sure Karoz will be returning to this tree soon. Just for the record, it looks like the Oracle Tree stands something under *200* meters tall, starting at an elevation of 122 at the base. Top elevation, then, would be around 300 meters or so. Below, Karoz sits at the 242 meter level. The name of the tree’s creator is Xirro Link, it seems, with another curiously empty SL profile to his name.

A pool at the base of the tree, actually in an open area underneath the hollow base. Nice… it’s “Water for Super Hottub 1.1” that I use to fill all my pools with as well. Here you’ll find a teleporter to the shrine Karoz was just meditating inside as well.

As Karoz is checking behind Baker Bloch today, he also finds that you can fly up about 30 meters through the hollow trunk as well, fwiw.

I should add more about trees here. Weird run of “tree” references from many different directions yesterday. Let me list them out. 1) Visited UK Heights own sim in Pudding Hill sim, Big Sink, and came across the band’s “Trees” video, inspired by vision of a since deceased band member; 2) Later in same day visited meditation spot obviously focused upon dense cluster of trees, also in Big Sink but on the western side; 3) That same night when Baker Bloch logged in, found lone notecard waiting for him from Quadrapop *Tree* group that he didn’t even know he belonged to. Never got a notecard from ’em before. But by this time he was aware of the tree motif going on, and promptly visited the “Halloween Hideout” it advertised and met a very nice avatar who managed the three Univ. of Western Australia sims it was located within. He also bragged about the works of the artist owner of the Quadropop Tree Gallery that the aforementioned SL group promotes, one Quadrapop Lane, who has some art showing at the Halloween Hideout as well.*

On more minor note, perhaps, saw man with last name of “Trees” on the tv, what little I watched that day, although I can’t remember the show or the context. Also came across, earlier in the day, mention of beings from Sirius as tree-like. There were other, more indirect references that later surfaced in Hucka D.’s late night thoughts on the subject, including seeing a car bought at a dealership in Joplin, Missouri on my short commute home from work (I’m American, but nowhere *near* Missouri, and I can’t remember the last time I’d seen a Missouri license plate, if ever), and a couple of other bits and pieces I’m not recalling right now.

Below, Baker Bloch once again stands in the largest dry sink of the Corsica continent, this time to specifically visit the Quadrapop Tree Gallery. I’ve also added the gallery to this blog’s SL galleries list. Had to, don’t you think?

Chat… Vortextra? October 21, 2009

” Dig something hard enough and you will fall into it.”

~ Chesaw to Saw-chee after an especially heated game of Trivia Ratsuit

“Hucka D., I think the Pudding Hole 1024 parcel still up for sale was the site of Vortextra. *This* is how Mythos and Second Life linked up, perhaps. Common *black hole*.

Hucka D.:

Pie hole. Good night to you.

bb:

Same to you. Let’s insert the picture of the tv from Long Island Sound, still around and now in the Blake Sea region.

Hucka D.:

Go noob or be cube.

bb:

What?

Hucka D.:

Go there or be square.

bb:

Oh, ok. Here’s the picture anyway. Hey, we were just talking about Baker Bloch’s father, weren’t we?

Hucka D.:

I think we called him unfit to eat because of his ghostly paternity.

bb:

So back on track…

Hucka D.:

Let’s look at an interesting picture of a wormhole.

wormhole_graphic

I have a riddle for you, baker b. Which came hunt, the fox or the egg?

bb:

Hucka D., I have no idea.

Hucka D.:

Make your joe, Joe.

*****

bb:

Back. (sips joe) Maybe Brouwer gives a cue, er, clue, Hucka D. The many stairs of the Gas N’ Glass. Like the Escher print I found in Alice on the protected land. Yes, it was at the bottom of this post. I wonder if this represents a way to seal up the wormhole. It can be a cube, spinning on the x, y, z axis all at once.

Hucka D.;

This is Third Life inside the Second. That’s a dangerous place [to be].

bb:

Alice is Chilbo, isn’t she?

Hucka D.:

Chilbo needs Korean Channel needs Sunklands needs Chilbo.

bb:

You were just waiting for an opening for that. (Hucka D. smiles)

Hucka D.:

How do you control a widening portal when opened? It is a coffee cup. It is a blue blox. The Blue Box. There’s your Chilbo automatons way out in King’s Beach, Chromex, which is caddycorner to Crowston. You should noob cube.

bb:

Go back, you mean. To King’s Beach.

Hucka D.:

To CHRO. 12 or 13. Teu e teu e.

bb:

Back to this Vortextra idea for a moment. Was it in the central Pudding Hill parcel?

Hucka D.:

It’s still there. That’s why it’s for sale. Haunted, they say. Not fit for resident or robot, they whisper. And of course they remember the Trivia Ratsuit contest, at least on an unconscious level. Like Dark Side… Darkside. Go back. They remember The Rat.

bb:

This is his *hole*.

Hucka D.:

Vortex, yes. Opened during the contest. Piehole. Flaming. Ask Marty.

bb:

Is he around tonight?

Hucka D.:

He is buying bird seed for his several parrots tonight, unfortunately. He’s very helpful and informative, though, don’t you think. We’re lucky to have him around, wanting to be a part of all this runny mess that might not be satisfactorily sealed up in the end [and all].

bb:

He’s really McCartney.

Hucka D.:

A McCartney variant. Like spam for ham.

bb:

You’re full of rhymes tonight, Hucka D.

Hucka D.:

Golden.

*****

bb:

I have a feeling campers camped next to the widening hole — sink hole — in tents like the one in the tiny Alice park. Chilbo.

Hucka D.;

Chilbo, da. Chilbo was there.

Changes… Leaps… March 19, 2009

Baker Bloch is becoming convinced that the refound portal in Bar Harbor will soon lead to another sl-to-rl conversion for him, like what happened in Uli almost precisely one year ago, thanks in large to Hucka D. (who went through the portal just before him). And through me, baker b., Baker Bloch knows where this particular portal leads to, or he’s pretty sure. This would be what I believe I called Portal #1 on RIVER. More very soon on that…

Yes, I gave up the Otherland parcel just last night. This was a goodbye picture to the bay, then… another bay.

snapshot941_002smaller

As direct and instant compensation I found this 1024 parcel in Aplasta to rent. Already building something new there… again: description soon. 🙂

Half Hitch Island, 1

Filed under: Blake Sea — baker Blinker @ 9:08 am

My apologies for once again getting behind in generating text for my travelog style posts. I’ve tried to catch up with all the Otherland related hikes and also the gallery oriented posts, but other subject groups have suffered, such as the Blake Sea set (the main subject of this post) and also new mainland hikes in the general Healy region mainly by Wilsonia, which have now spread out to the large snow covered areas to the west.

This is largely due to my focus on the Wheeler collage series, which takes a considerable amount of creative and psychic involvement to keep genearting the pieces one by one. As the Wheeler series will most likely spill directly into the Jasper series, to complete the 10×10, this condition is likely to last at least until mid-March. I especially didn’t think the Blake Sea related posts could wait any longer. Suffice to say that I’ll probably put off a larger exploration of the Otherland archipelago until the Spring.

But until the text comes along, here are my snapshots from the new Blake Sea area, once more, this time from the island closest to what I’ve called “Far East” in the Nautilus City related posts in this blog. Certainly Far East no longer, though! Enjoy.
