First and Second Life at least.

Going to give a virtual tour of Carcass-One soon. Work on structures. Begin with symmetry of town itself. I feel like it’s perfect for its time, and moves beyond Pietmond. Still unsure I want to keep it past June, thus one of the reasons for the tour — to remember it by.

Will probably visit Concreek tomorrow and start to make a map. Very deep — connected to the Art Line and labyrinths.

“Why don’t we start the story of Carcass-One tonight, Hucka D.?”

Hucka D.:

[I’m ]game.

bb:

Let’s start with the opposite corners of the town, and the two round structures there. Tucked in the ne corner of town we have the Quadtower of TILE returned, or what I sometimes call the Towers of TILE. Within is still the “Baker Bloch in England” exibit, as it has been for a year and a half now, or since the peak time of 1st Stage Pietmond. This is a direct carryover of Pietmond energy, Hucka D.

Hucka D.:

Yes.

bb:

In the opposite corner now is… I should back up and say the Quadtower is the tallest structure of Carcass-One. In the opposite corner of town, the southeast, is positioned “trainbuilding Ocolea”, a free structure I picked up probably in Oculea [sim] itself and created by the famous Tooter Claxton, who I procured a number of other free objects from in his shop in that sim. It’s one of the smallest buildings in Carcass-One, if not the smallest. Probably the shortest as well.

Hucka D.:

Yes. Opposites.

bb:

But both are circle-based structures.

Hucka D.:

They may become more directly related later on.

bb:

Nothing within the Claxton structure; very small. So that’s one mirroring of the town, the one to start with perhaps. Then moving into the interior we have a matching set of Victorian houses, Hucka D. Around the trainbuilding Oculea we have the House of Truth and the Home of Fibs, the former perfected in Noru perhaps and the latter, well maybe in Noru as well, or Sunklands before that. Within the House of Truth is the story of Jeogeot, Maebaleia, and the Big E/Big Schwa as related to Chilbo’s Eshwa.

Hucka D.:

Have you gotten the whole story for that yet?

bb:

Basically speaking, the E part is outside looking in[toward Chilbo and the Norum Circle of Influence], and the Schwa part is inside looking out… backwards from the first. Also there is little-big[ e/E], although I’m not sure…

Hucka D.:

Big is bigger. Little is within the Circle of Influence. Karoz was trapped inside this Circle. He could not see the E side; only the Schwa side. He thought he was from Chilbo, but he couldn’t remember events there. he was actually from Norum. Norum is separate from Chilbo[ although directly connected].

bb:

I have this feeling that Chilbo didn’t like me associating the name with Chilbolton, England, and ignoring the “mundane” Korean origin. The link with Chilbolton is through synchronicity, which can cut across languages.

Hucka D.:

In just this one structure: so many stories. Well, three.

bb:

Good one.

Hucka D.:

Within is Karoz finding the Big E in the Blue Feather Sea, now a part of the Greater Carcass-One metro area, hehe.

bb:

He realized the Big E was from Maebaleia, and that Maebaleia predated Jeogeot.

Hucka D.:

As you know now, they are part of one super duper continent. Lemon and lime together as one.

bb:

So you’re talking about Lemon Lab as opposed to Lime Lab… er, Linden Lab.

Hucka D.:

One moves east to west and the other west to east. Like the two forces of Carcass-One themselves.

bb:

I must animate Maebaleia-Jeogeot sometime.

Detail.

House of Truth (center) and Home o’ Fibs (right) with Claxton structure (left). In foreground is “Something To CHRO About”.

bb:

So moving on for now…

Hucka D.:

We shall return[ to the House of Truth]…

bb:

… is the Home o’ Fibs, seeming to be a counterpart to the Truth house. And within it is the story of Pieland or Big Island, which may have predated Second Life itself. Big Island is the biggest island of Azure Island’s now defunct Comet Archipelago, once existing to the east of the main clump of Azure Islands.

Hucka D.:

You still miss that place. *I* still miss it. It was perfect as well. We shall return[ sometime].

bb:

But Comet Archipelago represents our second stay in Azure Islands. Third, sorry. This would be just before I purchased the Aotearoa land in Sunklands and really started developing the Sunklands story.

Hucka D.:

It will be remembered. Another perfection for its time. Like Azure Islands. Like Carcass-One itself.

bb:

Right. So within the Home o’ Fibs — I’m just going to move to Norum to the one that has all the pictures — is Chesaw’s Pieland pictures and objects. Chesaw himself here…

… along with his cat Max, who later became the cat-turtle Max. Right?

Hucka D.:

It’s your story, but… right.

bb:

And you were there also.

Hucka D.:

Yes. Chesaw was my guardian, my protector. He took care of me and my brood.

bb:

And then the seven sims of Big Island itself, rearranged as 7 slices of a pie with the seventh just removed. We know the names of the six intact sims during your stay — my stay? — but the seventh remains unknown.

Hucka D.:

Reminds me of the Peter Gabriel song “Seven Stones”.*

bb:

Hucka D., I’ve put a correction in a footnote that you were probably thinking of the Lover’s Leap starting section of “Supper’s Ready” and its reference to 6 saintly shrouded men with a 7th in front, cross held high in hand.

Hucka D.:

Really? Where?

bb:

In the footnote to this post.

Hucka D.:

I can’t see it.

bb:

Do you think it’s “Supper’s Ready” instead of “Seven Stones”?

Hucka D.:

I see it (!) It’s Blue Feather Douglas. He has an umbrella instead of a cross, but he’s holding it in hand, kind of high in hand or at least not low. He’s high, though… he’s in his hated penthouse. There’s a Pietmond picture in the living room. Red, blue, yellow… without green. Green is farm, green is plants. Vegetation. Century? Green grass and green trees full of life. Young figure — Mrs. Douglas. This is Carcass-6!

bb:

You see all that? How? In your mind’s eye?

Hucka D.:

I am in the sync (!)

bb:

(!)

Baker Bloch has fallen asleep while bb and Hucka D.’s discussion strays.

* Hucka D. was probably thinking of this song instead: “Supper’s Ready”

Lyrics to the first section of this track (Lover’s Leap)

Walking across the sitting-room, I turn the television off.
Sitting beside you, I look into your eyes.
As the sound of motor cars fades in the night time,
I swear I saw your face change, it didn’t seem quite right.
…And it’s hello babe with your guardian eyes so blue
Hey my baby don’t you know our love is true.

Coming closer with our eyes, a distance falls around our bodies.
Out in the garden, the moon seems very bright,
Six saintly shrouded men move across the lawn slowly.
The seventh walks in front with a cross held high in hand.
…And it’s hello babe your supper’s waiting for you.
Hey my baby, don’t you know our love is true.

I’ve been so far from here,
Far from your warm arms.
It’s good to feel you again,
It’s been a long long time. Hasn’t it?
