Walkabout Time? December 27, 2011

I think it may be time for Baker Bloch to just walk around Pietmond while I look over his shoulder and tell stories about the place. Or make up stories on the spot. “Hucka?”

Carcassonne:

I am the 7th. I am the one to come. I am Carcassonne. I am the Mouse of norris. I am Cache.

bb:

Thank you, Carcassonne. The 7th is not only the next carrcass but also…

Hucka D.:

Hi.

bb:

Hey. Have a good Christmas?

Hucka D.”

Most excellent. Got sick, though. Whooping cough. Weezing. The lot.

bb:

Sorry to hear about that. Where did you spend your holiday?

Hucka D.:

Barbados.

bb:

Is that where the family is from?

Hucka D.:

No. (pause) You know that.

bb:

Kentucky, right?

Hucka D.:

Yes. Cousin Arthur or Aruthur really wanted me, us, to visit. I’m together with norris again, but it’s all small letters now. Study “Burning Bush.” “Son Bush” or “Sun Bush.”

bb:

Yes, Burning Bush, Pennsylvania on the Rainsburg topo map, Hucka. Nearby is Mann’s Choice as well.*

bb:

I really like Cache Creek, obviously, Hucka D., but it’s going to be hard to get to in the summer. Plus its kind of one-dimensional in that you have to hike the creek itself to work your way down. Norris or NORRIS is different: there’s The Freedom Path all along it, source to mouth essentially.

Hucka D. (emphasizing):

You have The Freedom[ now].

bb:

Another thing I’ve thought about recently, in reading the blog at the beach mainly, is that Norris Heights was found at essentially the same time that Pietmond Heights was reinstated in Pietmond; this would have been early November.

Hucka D.:

You still haven’t finished your norris Gallery in Pietmond. You better work on that[ in the coming days].

bb:

I will; maybe take some more pictures of Norris itself.

Hucka D.:

Do (!)

bb:

So you and Norris are back together now.

Hucka D.:

Yes. We had a long talk about Hurla Dontbee and Otherland. She understands better[ the situation] now.

bb:

Good. That’s great Hucka D.

Hucka D.:

Yes. She understands that Norris Heights is…

bb:

Lemon? Lab?

Carcassonne:

I am still The Center.

* In 1848, Congressman Job Mann pressured to have a post office at an unnamed village in Harrison Township. The Post Office Department approved the new post office, but as the village had no name, Congressman Mann was to give it one. Before he did so, postal maps were made with the temporary designation “Mann’s Choice” written on it. The name was never changed, and became the permanent and official one.
