bb:

Pietmond’s still around, Hucka D.

Hucka D.:

Here he is.

Grumpy the Hare:

Howdy neighbor! Stand on the place where you’re at, I suppose!

bb:

Hey Grumpy the Hare! Who the heck are *you*, hehe?

Grumpy The Hare:

Not your friend Hare, true. But not your enemy Hare either. I’m a tweener. Mr…

Hucka D.:

Hold on, please (long pause). He’s gone.

bb:

Just you and me. Is that or was that the Hare who lost his spectacles, Hucka D.?

Hucka D.:

Could be. Hold on again once more, please. Sorry. (even longer pause)

Grumpy the Hare:

I found my way back! Did you visit the shopping alley?

bb:

That where you’ve been, Grumpy?

Grumpy the Hare:

I bought a boat! For fishing. You like to fish, baker Beach?

bb:

Not particularly. At all. So you know my real last name, eh?

Grumpy the Hare:

He’s out there, in the water.

bb:

Cubey Dick?

Grumpy the Hare (shaking his head):

So Vile, so Vile. Vileness they call him. He should be shot and killed. That’s my job! I have a boat!

bb:

Do you live on Yd Island, Grumpy?

Grumpy the Hare:

I come from Meddledown in Meddletown. Wait… Hucka D., your enemy/friend, is back.

Hucka D.:

I was counting clowns at the back of the circus. Don’t want to lose any[, you see].

bb:

Great. So is Grumpy *really * gone this time?

Grumpy the Hare (from a distance):

Nope! Over here! Getting my gear in place!

Hucka D.:

He’s going fishing.

bb:

I heard. For Cubey Dick or the equivalent?

Hucka D.:

Moby Cube. Probably the same, though. Unless they’re mates[ of each other].

bb:

Do you like the fact that I’m sort of back on Yd Island, Hucka D.

Hucka D.:

Oh, you’re back.

Grumpy the Hare (from a distance again):

Ready!!

Hucka D.:

I think he wants us to join him.

bb:

I’ve already told him I’m not much into fishing. Especially for something that big, if that’s what he means[ about the fish].

Hucka D.:

Well then, I’m not going either. He’ll be disappointed.

bb:

Is that the same as Uma G. Uma, who was — and actually still is, most likely — from Meddletown or Meddledown?

Hucka D. (looking into the distance):

He set sail without us; anxious to get going. That’s a mighty big harpoon he’s carrying. (still looking intently) That’s his boat!
