Long Way/Short Way November 3, 2010

“The grass so green. Skies so blue. Pietmond is really
great!”

~ Warren Zevon, circa 2007 (tomorrow)

“Let’s get right into it, Hucka D. We must exercise Pietmond memories or else quickly forget.”

Hucka D.:

Right. You must bring in others, though.

bb:

That’s fine. First off, Peter’s Way, what we’re calling Peter’s Way now, running parallel to Peter’s Mound…

Hucka D.:

Didn’t someone respond to this blog with the name of Mound recently? Never mind… continue…

bb:

This way use to be called Short Way before the death of Peter. Correct?

Hucka D.:

It’s your town. But: yes.

bb:

Peter walks into town just like Edward Bloom walked into Spectre in Big Fish, and found the lily white town. Lillywhite.

Hucka D.:

But then they find or uncover the labyrinth. Lillywhite *and* color after that.

bb:

Later Peter comes into town on the Long Way, perhaps after he comes back from the Rabbit Hole incident.

Hucka D.:

He is technically dead then.

bb:

Hmmm… Let me look over ponder other, possible questions.

Hucka D.:

Take your time.

*****

bb:

What’s in the episode, “It wasn’t the pilot” Hucka D.?

Hucka D.:

“It wasn’t the pilot, Hucka D.”?

bb:

No, without the “Hucka D.” tacked onto the end.

Hucka D.:

Tachyons?

bb:

Is that an answer?

Hucka D.:

Is it? Then: yes. Tachyons. Tacky Bill. Ticky Bill’s twin half brother. Always wears plaid.

bb:

So Tacky Bill comes into town and causes trouble for his brother Ticky Bill. But Ticky Bill has already been demonstrated in episode 1 to be illusionary.

Hucka D.:

So will Tacky Bill. (pause)

bb:

Peter won’t fall for it this time.

Hucka D.:

Tacky Bill is real, though. From the 4th dimension. Always wears the green screen.

bb:

Like this guy?*

Hucka D.:

Maybe!

*****

bb:

I think I saw that fellow over on the Parktown blog. Yes, here** . Twins again, then. I think Tacky Bill may have been the same as this Pie fellow. And, hey, Pie… *Pie*tmond. See?

Hucka D.:

What of the Red Man in that picture? Hoofingstoof?

bb:

Is that his name? It says Cloven Hoof in the picture.

Hucka D.:

He is the one who split the Pie into two pieces. Or two halves of one Pie. Pietmond.

bb:

People will say… go ahead…

Hucka D.:

People will say he is the reason for the name: Pietmond.

*****

bb:

No I think episode three of the Pietmond series should be Peter talking to the preacher and undertaker, who are one in the same, about the just unearthed labyrinth and No Room Cemetery beneath the cathedral.

Hucka D.:

That’s Tacky Bill!

bb:

There were two of them.

Hucka D.:

He runs into them on opposite sides of town. It would be impossible for it to be the same Tacky Bill, because of the distance involved. Tacky Bill then fesses up and states he travels faster than time at times. Light, I mean. “Do you know Ticky Bill?” Peter then logically asks. “Well of course I know Ticky Bill,” comes the response. “He shows up at all town meetings, he’s always hanging around the library and checking out books, he’s always seen at local restaurants, wearing the latest cuts. Of course I know Ticky. Ticky Bill. Bill.” Peter, then: “No, Ticky Bill has been proven to be quite illusionary, Tacky Bill. So I’m afraid you are part of another town joke I’m the butt of.” Tacky Bill now (deeper voice): “No, in this case you are wrong. I *do* know Ticky Bill because I can travel faster than time. Did I say time again? I meant light, of course. Tacky Bill… tachyons. That’s where the nickname comes from.”

bb:

I love this little play, Hucka D., but I must go inworld sometime and take some pictures…

Hucka D. (continuing):

So Peter says to prove it, and that’s when Tacky Bill takes him to the Rabbit Hole. But Peter wakes up and it’s all a dream, after he is pushed in. He runs down to the funeral home and finds the usual Pie Hole there. Wait, that wasn’t the name… Werehole. Werewolf Hole…

bb (suggesting):

Warren. Warren Zevon by chance?

Hucka D.:

Precisely!

  1. […] Sits by the bog. Composing inept poems. Well… *I* liked them. […]
