Wider than the sea… December 4, 2009

“I miss Plant, Hucka D.”

Hucka D.:

You wanna speak to him?

bb:

Is that the Sunklands guy again? Greenup Yd.?

Hucka D.:

Yeah. Here he or she or it is.

Greenup Yd.:

Hello baker Beach.

bb:

Hmmm… you use my real name, like Plant use to do.

Greenup Yd.:

Still does. How do you like me so far?

bb:

You mean the island?

Greenup Yd.:

Yes. Me.

bb:

Well, it’s really quite fascinating in places. Maybe — dare I say — the most interesting place yet I’ve lived at in Second Lyfe. I supposed I’ve also “y-ed” SL now, Greenup Yd..

Greenup Yd.:

I am/ am not Vileness Flats.

bb:

The giant fish… yes, I was going to ask about that tonight.

Greenup Yd.:

I am not the fish. Yet I am. Inside-out. Feet on the ground and up in the air.

bb:

Greenup and yellow down, then.

Greenup Yd.:

I am a measure. The Measure.

bb:

Hucka D. mentioned that the Vileness fish is color blind, but in the impossible green-yellow spectrum. That is, as Hucka D. put it, if Vileness fish could drive a car, he would be constantly running through yellow lights with no hesitation, thinking they were green. Maybe you have the same vision problem, then?

Greenup Yd.:

Nes. Yo.

bb:

Dyslexic. Don’t worry, I am too a bit. Very often, I’ll write in this blog that something is east of something else and I’ll recheck and see it is west.

Greenup Yd.:

The fish is a bird [then].

bb:

When I told Hucka D. that green-yellow is not a true color blindness condition (most commonly red-green but sometimes blue-yellow), he countered, unperturbed, by saying there’s also a blue-red color blindness…

Greenup Yd.:

Fish. Fish. (pause) Fish.

bb:

Physh?

Hucka D.:

We better tuck him back in for the night. The Island, ladies and gents. You’re going to see he likes to measure things in yards, perhaps fabric.

bb:

Nice. I assume you want me to go back to The Measure soon.

Hucka D.:

Go every night if you wish. You’ll see how Yd Island is more interesting than the more planned Nautilus City Island, at least now and in the present.

bb:

Oh… what about Rabbit Head??

Hucka D.:

That’s a direct carryover or imprint from Big Sink and Sunklands. To remember them by. It’s a Bozho.

bb:

Bunny Boy mentions Nanabozho, Hucka D.*

Hucka D.:

Bunny Boy is one smarter f*cker.

bb (playfully reprimanding):

Hucka D.! I’ve never heard you use foul language.

Hucka D.:

Fowl.

bb:

And I think you’re going to say…

Hucka D. (interrupting):

The Numbers, right. You can see them in [this picture], on one of the ears.** 28064212.

bb:

About the same time as a lunar cycle[, then].

Hucka D.:

It is the same. It is The Moon. Sun and Moon as one and all and all in one.

bb:

Obviously, Hucka D., I had to get rid of The Sun in my move to Yd Island. Still have The Moon, though.

Hucka D.:

The Sun must return sometime.***

bb:

Can we talk more of the Vileness fish tonight?

Hucka D. (measured):

Green. Red. Blue. (pause) Yellow. Green. (pause) Red. Blue.

bb:

TILE, then?

Hucka D.:

Better end. Save me a waffle iron.

bb:

Oh… ok. Goodnight.

Hucka D.:

Goodnight.

Yd Island, 02

Yes, Baker has *definitely* seen this before. This is the Billfork Core Diagram virtually realized! he thinks upon finding it in the Villeneuve forest next to his new home. He tries to count the small pumpkins in the ring, and looses track. He tries again: 25. He re-checks: 25 again. Shame it’s not 24, because that’s the actual number of circles around the Billfork Core Diagram perimeter. But he knows they are the same anyway. And the clincher for him: 8 larger stones form a rough octagon just below the circle of pumpkins, and tracing the same imaginary circle. The Billfork Core Diagram (BCD) also has a framework of 8 equally placed *orange* circles.

And the ultimate clincher (again for him at that particular moment, still in a quite heightened state of mind), is this *9th* rock directly in front of one the 8 forming the octagon, just like there’s a special *9th* orange circle in the BCD. Can’t be chance! He decides he must think further and further about the 9th, and the phrase “turn me on dead man.” But we must remember his condition while he’s thinking this.

Baker still in the forest, hiking the line between green (right) and beige (left). He feels similarly split himself. Poor forest!

Then at the northern edge of the forest, he emerges into an opening and looks back down on his rented property and the small pond there. Suddenly he has come down from his high (!) Just like that. Just when emerging from the perhaps enchanted forest.

Continuing to explore further east now, he comes across a cave full of what are called Jungian archetype symbols.

And there’s Jung himself, guarding the front door along with rather fearsome looking, if small, red dragon.

Some “archetypes”, though, seemed to more resemble something manifesting during a bad acid trip. Glad the effects of the bong hit are gone! a still slightly spooked Baker thinks when encountering this skull.

Yd Island, 01

An added bonus to the Yd Island property I now rent is the close proximity to the ocean. This beach front is in Von Trips, not 200 meters from the gallery grounds. And there’s an even closer access point directly north of the gallery in this same sim.

Von Trips (yet another local sim named for a sports car driver who died in a crash while racing) is caddycorner to the first reachable, Linden protected water sim, called The Measure. Hucka D. has already mentioned it as having some sort of connection with the Vileness fish — more on that later, I suppose. To Baker at the time, the glyphs on the sea bottom of The Measure were eerily Okinu-like in quality, something he can’t remember experiencing over a sim-wide area outside of Okinu itself. Maybe just a faulty memory again, though.

Then after some sea exploring closer to Nautilus City, Baker decides to go back to Villeneuve and poke around the forest immediately to the south of the gallery some more. Unfortunately, he finds this large bong just on the other side of the tree line separating his own land from the neighbor’s, and decides to “touch” it to see what happens.

Next thing he knows he’s floating about 3 feet above the ground.

The gallery looks sooooooo far up in the sky now. Difficult to believe it’s real, the huge, pure cube shape being so dissimilar from anything his user has experienced in normal reality, he realizes. He likes it! And strange to think he has a user at all. Who’s the user of his user? he ponders.

The forest seemed to go on and on, even though it is only about a half sim in depth. A square pool with incense burning on a wooden platform to one side is found somewhere near its midst.

Baker staring at the prominent protrusion in Ratzenberger to the south, with Rabbit Head immediately in front of him, sandwiched between foreground green and background beige. Where has Baker Block seen all this before??
