“Which came hunt, the fox or the egg?”

~ riddle introduced by Hucka Doobie at the first Pudding Hill contest, 1780

“You seen this article yet, baker b.?”

bb:

Thank you. Yes, Klutzy Kamper found it today at work.

Hucka D.:

I went back in time to plant a riddle [to create] this magazine cover.

bb:

So you have an interest in Castle Rock, Hucka D.

Hucka D.:

I have an interest in Key Rock. The Marbles.

bb:

I’ve been thinking about Key Rock a bit today, the one in my parent’s house and not as much the one on Castle Rock ridge.

Hucka D.:

One and the same.

bb:

Ok. It was actually on the wall outside the house, a more proper place for a key rock with a key inside.

Hucka D.:

Azure blue it was. As the house itself. Augustus painted it that color. One must paint a house blue or pink in order for it to be born.

bb:

So a rat painted the whole house, Hucka D.?

Hucka D.:

The key painted the house. Key and house as one.

bb:

Look at the number for this realtor, Hucka D. 4444 again (!) I luv these late night wanderings. (smiles)

Hucka D.:

The house was a giant blue box or cube. Inside is… (pause)

bb:

Yes?

Hucka D.:

Code. Mathematics. What Jacob said.

bb:

Gray?

Hucka D.:

Think back to Eisenhower. Think back to the Cold War. A pact was made. 4444.

Plant:

Call that number.

bb:

I don’t think so Mr. Plant.

Plant:

No the 1234567890.

Hucka D.:

Call Chasm Falls, baker b. Call Titusville. Call Vice President Wheeler. Wilson.

bb:

What are you pushing me toward tonight, fellows?

Hucka D.:

A Plant.

Plant:

Blue? Pink?
