First and Second Life at least.

Loose Thoughts… Chatting? August 4, 2009

Now have shifted all emphasis to Noru once again. Will get rid of the 4080 in Horisme in about a week. Sad, but everything worked out so well in the remodelling of Noru properties that it was an easy choice in the end (difficult in the middle, though!). I’m going to keep the name Sylver Forest Galleries for the Noru galleries, even though it isn’t in the Sylver Forest any longer. Landscaping worked out incredibly well in Noru, even though there are probably too many plant textures on the property now. Two small ponds act as types of focus, one more blue and one more white. Blue Pond and White Pond, then? I’m not sure why but it seems I have considerably more land in Noru than Horisme, even though it’s just an extra 1024 to tack on to a similarly square 4096. Only 5/4ths bigger than Horisme, then. But that extra 1024 seems to make all the difference, as I noticed when I first moved to Noru from, well I can’t even remember where (Hibdon?). The arrangement of structures on the property is almost entirely different from the first arrangement stabilized in mid to late May. The only thing that’s really stayed the same is the House of Truth, although I haven’t added in the photographs again. It sits on that “extra” 1024, or the one adjacent to the square of 4 1024s to the east. The new center is b_hivia, which is a combined Edwardston Station Gallery and Temple of TILE. True I’ve also decided to keep the temple around, but it doesn’t have Edna’s photograph collection in it, or any of my collages for that matter. Instead what we have on the ground now in Noru are the narrative SL photographs exclusively, and this would include the Big E or Big Schwa that now sits on the ground and is not up in the air, like it was in Horisme. Seems to work that way very well. The House of Truth and the Big E lie in opposite corners of the property, with the Temple of TILE kind of situated between them, more in the center. The newish tower of the temple is a key, for I aligned the whole landscaping of the ground area on the point extending down from its center. There I created the dimple that is the Blue Pond. Is this also a symbol, somehow, of Rubisea? Anyway, there’s similarly sized White Pond on the ground as well. I’ll make a map soon… it’s a considerably more successful landscaping project than the one I did for the Horisme property. There’s parallel mounds as well: another pairing of convex and concave shapes in a directly line with each other (east-west in the new Noru alignment; north-south in Horisme).

If it weren’t for the construction of the b_hivia Gallery that replaced the Edwardston Station Gallery and the Gallery at the Temple of TILE, eliminating their need, I probably wouldn’t have moved back to Noru, or had that option. Interesting. It’s almost as if something wants me to stay close to Chilbo — live in Greater Chilbo as my neighbor calls our hood. I still want to be peripherally associated. And it appears I will be. As Hucka D. said, there seems to be, also, a kind of psychic pipeline between Jeogeot/Chilbo and Maebaleia/Crabwoo. More important than that, even, might be the new developments in the Rubisea area of Maebaleia below Crabwoo, or what Hucka D. is claiming could be the oldest part of Second Life, and where it all started.

My rent runs out in Bluedrake in about a day, and I’ll be looking for another rental unit soon in that same area, hopefully in a bit nicer place. But I’m hankering for more exploring.

“Let’s bring in Hucka D. now.”

Hucka D.:

Here.

bb:

Hucka D., was it a good idea to name the Noru properties the Sylver Forest Galleries as well, carrying the name over from Horisme?

Hucka D.:

Like the Los Angeles Lakers. And they’ve been a success.

bb:

Good comparison, I suppose.

bb:

I did want to mention for this blog that the newish circle based tower of the Temple of TILE originally came from the Okinu area. I should have probably related that story here before. Will have to retrace my steps to figure it out again, though.

Hucka D.:

Two things set it in motion. The Tower and then b_hivia. The Tower broke the Temple of TILE out of its exclusive 1024 nature, moving it beyond Edwardston Station Gallery still trapped in cube form — Borg Cube form, if you will. The revised b_hivia provided a non-cube alternative to the 2 cube formation found in Ichalon, for example. Same pictures within. This is like an Ubertemple Lite, I believe you said. Well put, seemingly. This freed up the temple to act as something else besides a gallery of photographs, although it served very well for that purpose. Now it holds the SL narrative photographs, starting with the Where are we on that? exhibit. Which also eliminated the need for the stand-alone, modified Slum Apt. dwelling that you also had originally set up in both Noru and then Horisme. Now that has been assimilated into the temple, as it was suppose to be all along. The Tower is the way you re-center yourself in Noru, along with b_hivia itself, of course. But b_hivia is way up in the sky and the temple and its tower is near the ground. Blue Pond. Center. Yellow Fish. But it’s really the mound that is the center. Cemetery Hill, he he.

bb:

But Baker Bloch has removed Baker Blinker’s tombstones now. All 3 of them, 1 by 1.

Hucka D.:

Put *1* back.

bb:

But I don’t want to name it Cemetery Hill. Pool Hill?

Hucka D.:

Bill Hill? Bill from Phil?

bb:

Interesting… maybe.

Hucka D.:

Death of The Bill. 3 of ’em. The last time you used those tombstones… (pause)

bb:

Hucka D.?

Plant:

I am forgotten!

bb:

Hi Plant. RS7 is finished, so maybe you’re not needed as much right this very minute.

Plant:

But a double is coming up. I will be used!

bb:

We’re back on Jeogeot now, Plant. The Bakers.

Plant:

Yes, I am happy. Return to Nowtown soon. As soon as you can. Deer.

bb:

Deer? Oh… I see.

Plant:

Fire Maven. Ruled all the land. Source of all good and evil. Rubisea is the source, but Rubisea is just the start. It expanded and expanded from there, and is now being re-revealed at last. The Bills.

bb:

Plant, I’m thinking of naming the central mound of my Noru properties Bill Hill. Do you have any thoughts on that?

Plant:

Lime. Lindens. The Man. The Bill.

bb:

Ok.

Plant:

Noru is now a true microcosm because of The Hill. Mountain to Hill. Bill.

bb:

But not a cemetery… now.

Plant:

The Ancients…

bb:

Like Mr. Low?

Plant:

Where is the 4th?

bb:

Always the question, Hucka D. likes to say about that.

Plant:

Microcosm.

bb:

I didn’t have that on the Horisme properties. Don’ have that — still rent there for now.

Plant:

Rubi Forest and Great Wall were too strong of presences. You may go back to Rubi sometime, though.

bb:

I’ve thought of that.

Plant:

Microcosm.

bb:

Right… Blue Pool, White Pool, Bill Hill… Bill Hill doesn’t sound quite right.

Plant:

That’s what it is, though. What’s on it?

bb:

I just see an avatar sitting there.

Plant:

*You* must sit there. The whole Baker family.

bb:

Ok.

Plant:

That’s what Archangel Writer meant.

bb:

I see.

Plant:

You must become The Bill.

(to be continued?)
